John P. Lape "Jack," 78, of Grove City, passed away January 23, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Marie Lape; brothers Bill, Jim and "Bub" Lape. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 61 years (anniversary Jan. 28, 2006) Esther; children Jack (Abby) Lape, Terri (Glenn) Compton, Bonnie Sims, Mike (Vicki) Lape; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and his beloved pet Toots. Jack was a member of Redeemer's Church West and retired from C&O Railroad after 33 years of service. Jack was a veteran of the US Navy serving during World War II and a member of the American Legion Paschall Post 164. A special thank you to the Mt. Carmel Hospice for their wonderful care. Visitation will be held 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00PM Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Funeral services will be held 11:30AM Thursday, January 26, 2006 at Redeemer's Church West, 2199 Holt Rd. Grove City, Ohio 43123. Pastor Mike Lape will be officiating with interment at Concord Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel Hospice. Messages of condolence may be left at www.newcomerfamily.com
