John P. Bailey, 73, Johnstown, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2011, unexpectedly. John was born in Grahn, KY on November 14, 1937, to Shirley Wayne and Hazel (Carroll) Bailey, and is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Catherine (Bailey) Lilley. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Karin (Gentz) Bailey, daughter, Diana (Jack) Bookhamer; sons, Stuart (Lynn) and John (Rebecca) Bailey; sister, Faye (Paul) Engbersen; brothers, Charles Bailey and Doug (Linda) Mays; son-in-law, Mike Lilley; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. John retired from the Columbus Police Department after 34 years of dedicated service. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 14, 2011, 2-4PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service to follow at 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
