John Parmenter Sr.
March 8, 1944 — May 27, 2013
John A. Parmenter Sr. went home to be with the Lord on May 27, 2013.
Preceded in death by his parents Tom and Elva and sister, Janet Grace Parmenter.
John is survived by his loving wife, Sharon of 49 yrs; sons, Jim (Michelle), John Jr. (Sherry) and Joe (Connie Kunash) Parmenter; five grandchildren, Justin, Kendra, Joshua, Jacob and Breanna Parmenter. He is also survived by brothers, Chuck (Betty) and David (Renee) Parmenter; brother and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and his trusting, lovable companion Katie.
John is a member of the Commercial Point United Methodist Church; was an officer with the Scioto Twp Fire Dept for 15 years; a Mason with the Heber Lodge #501 and OTR truck driver for 38 years. He cherished his time spent with his 1962 classmates from Scioto Twp H.S.
A special thank you to both Scioto Twp and Jackson Twp Fire Departments for all their loving support as well as Mt. Carmel Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to the Scioto Twp Fireman's Association.
Visitation Thursday, May 30, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 with a Masonic Service at 7:30 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral Service Friday, May 31, 2013 at 10 am at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Beckett Cemetery, Commercial Point, OH.
