John M."Pete" Williams, 60, of Columbus, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. Born to the late Oma and Lena (VanHoose) Greene in Ashland, KY., John is also preceded in death by two brothers, Asa Williams and Earl Broughton. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary (Allen) Williams; daughter, Tina; sons, Chopper and Asa; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; brothers, Marion and William VanHoose; many friends. John served in the US Army and was awarded the "Purple Heart". Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2008, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the funeral service at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
