John E. Pummel, Sr., 64, of Grove City, passed away, Sunday, February 3, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. Born to the late John A. and Lurene (Saffol) Pummel in Shadyside, Ohio. John is preceded in death by his loving wife, Virginia Pummel; sons, Michael Smith and Daniel Cole and brother, Charles Pummel. John is survived by his brother, Clarence Pummel; daughters, Kimberly Eichenlaub, Brenda Tewell, Renee Cole, Gina Penix; sons, Jeffrey (Diane) Smith, Charles (Brenda) Smith, Jr., Jimmie (Anna) Richcreek, John Pummel, Jr.; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Roberta Richcreek. John was retired from the U.S. military serving in both the U.S. Army Reserves and the U.S. Marine Corps. John was also retired from the U.S. Post Office. Visitation will be held 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00PM Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Funeral services will be held 1:00PM Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at the funeral home. Pastor Terry Priest will be officiating with interment at Grove City Cemetery.
