John "Richard" Messer

John "Richard" Messer, 56, passed away suddenly at his home on June 30, 2014 in Columbus, OH. He was born on December 31, 1957 in Columbus to John C. and Columbia Bell Messer.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister.
He is survived by his daughter, Twana (Patrick) Balling; grandson, Patrick Dean Balling; six siblings; Mary Messer; and many other loving family members and friends.
Richard enjoyed many outdoor activities, including Frisbee Golf, fishing, gardening, and golf. He was a gifted bowler and played on a variety of bowling leagues around Columbus for many years. Richard loved his family, and lived every day to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 3, 2014 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, OH 43231.
