John Edward Schowalter, 72, of Washington Court House, formerly of Hilliard, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 9th, 2010, at the home of his sister-in-law and caregiver, surrounded by his family.
John was a member and avid fan of the Columbus Motor Speedway, NASCAR Association and Dennis Racing.
John was preceded in death by his first wife Beverley Spires and two grandchildren George Robert Dorris and Caleb Bowshier.
John is survived by his daughters, Brenda Dorris, Robin Boyer (David Gaston) and Nicola Hockingberry, former wife Carol Ellenberger-Boggs, seven grandchildren: Geraldine and Jaclyn Dorris, Thomas Boyer (Ashlee Woolever), Michael Boyer (Kseniya Shishlo), John Sullivan, Jr., Corin and Christa Hockingberry, four great grandchildren: Devon, David, Daniel and Faith Dorris, special friends Jerry and Judy Dennis and extended family and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 14th, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 15th, 2010 at 11:00 AM, all at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123.
Interment immediately following in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
