John Henry Simons Jr., 82, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Mt. Carmel West. He was born December 27, 1926, in Columbus, son of the late John Henry and Mary Ellen Still Simons Sr. John served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of V.F.W. Post 495. He is survived by his sons, John (Rebecca) Simons and Harold (Betty) Clifford; daughters, Diana (Jim) Roll, Shirlene (John) Lones, Florie Clifford and Cindy Cole; sisters, Betty Salvito, Rosie and Duck Borders; grandchildren, John Michael (Michelle) Roll, Angie Roll, Shawn Lones, Michael Lones, Jason Eldridge and Dawn Raines; great grandchildren, Holden Michael Roll, Kylie Roll, Carson Roll, Kirk Wellman and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, March 13, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway Grove City. Funeral service will be Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Harrison Twp. Cemetery.
