John Andrew Underwood

On August 6th, 2024, John Andrew Underwood age 73, of Darbydale, OH was reunited with his dearly missed wife. John passed in his sleep from chronic health issues. John Andrew Underwood was born to Arnold and Francis Underwood in Columbus, OH. John was close with his brother growing up. He graduated from Westland High School where he was an athlete. He served our country proudly in the Vietnam War. He later met the love of his life Rhonda Longmire and they married and started a family. John was employed at CSX for many years. He was a very hard worker and was a good provider for his family. He enjoyed traveling, Harley Davidson Motorcycles, and he was a die hard Michigan Wolverine and Dallas Cowboy Fan weekends were for football anywhere he was. He was a proud Pappy he loved every minute he spent with his grandchildren. One of his proudest moments recently was going to Kentucky to watch his grandson Michael graduate. John is survived by his sons Chad (Heather) and Jan (Heather), his grandchildren Michael, Trinity, and Damon, sister Jane. John was preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Francis and his wife Rhonda. 

A gathering will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2025 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at the NEWCOMER SOUTHWEST CHAPEL 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123.
