John Clyde Wolverton, Jr.

John C. Wolverton Jr. passed away on June 6, 2023 in Columbus, Ohio.
John was at home with his wife, Marsha. John had been in Mt. Carmel Hospice care these last few weeks. Thank you for your tender loving care.
John was a loving, caring man that taught school for many, many years in the Columbus City School District, Rosemont Center, and tutored deaf students as well. Marsha never knew what time he was coming home because he was so dedicated to his students and truly loved serving.
He was a great, loving man that made friends wherever he would go. Marsha would often lose him in the grocery store and find him talking to someone he had met and they were telling him their life story.
John never met a stranger!
He loved the people he taught with and his students as well. He would get a phone call at all hours from students that needed help with their homework and he would oblige!
John loved his friends at church, his Lost Viking family, and those at the Ohio Renaissance Festival; overall, he just loved being with people!
John was a United States Airforce Veteran.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde (Bud) Sr. and Katherine M. (Shore) Wolverton; father-in-law, Harry L. (Dick) Stewart; brothers-in-law, Larry A. Stewart, and Gerald Grogan.
Surviving family includes, the love of his life, Marsha; daughter, Christine (Shane) Fields; granddaughter, Reece Leigh Deeter; sister, Patricia Grogan; mother-in-law, Judy Stewart; special cousin, Connie (Floyd) Morgan; uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and a huge amount of friends; and lastly but not least his beloved Moo Moo.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Parkinson's Foundation in John's name. Also as a tribute to him the family asks that you wear a Super Hero shirt or your Vikings Garb!
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm with a Funeral Service immediately following. Burial will take place on Friday, June 16th, 2023 at 10:00 am at Green Lawn Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio.
