John H. Wright

John H. Wright, age 82, of Columbus passed away at home on February 9, 2023. He was born on February 15, 1940 inVinton County to the late Roy Adlai Wright and Etta Mae Wright (Bacus). In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his siblings, Homer Wright, Marg Wright, Dale Wright, Merrill Eugene Wright, Sue Adkins, Kate Wright, Loualma Bay, Larry Wright and Yvonne Cattee.

John is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Geraldine Wright (Tomblin), whom he wed on July 24, 1965. John is also survived by his children, Anjinette (Willie) Hughes, John D. (Chris) Wright, David (Deb) Wright, Jill (Terry) Blankenship; grandchildren, Jonathon Hughes, Shelby (Dustin) Benefield, Joshua (Hannah) Wright, James (Destiny) Wright, Joseph Wright, Ali Wright, Macie Wright, Jacob Blankenship, Jenna Blankenship; great-grandchildren, Aubree Wright, Jozey Hughes, Jeremiah Wright, Maddox Wright and brother, James E. (Brenda) Wright; along with many other family and friends.

John proudly served in the US Navy. He then worked at Capital Manufacturing Company for 38 years. John was a big OSU fan! He also loved to fish, garden, dance, sing and spend time with his family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Newcomer Northeast, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road. Funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. followed by burial at Blendon Central Cemetery, 6350 Hempstead Road.
