Joseph L. Cherry, 80, of Delaware, OH passed away on January 31, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was born on December 15, 1942 in Columbus, OH to the late Joseph M. and Belma Cherry. He was also preceded in death by his uncle, Earl Cherry.
Surviving family includes longtime partner, Brenda K. Smith, sons, Kevin (Kelly) Cherry, Kristopher (Katy) Cherry, grandchildren, Justin Stolberg, Cooper Cherry, Cecelia Cherry, Liam Cherry, Cameron Cherry, Joshua Parker, Michael Parker, Balin Humphrey, Brodie Humphrey, Bryon Humphrey, sisters, Barb (Richard) Forrest, Jane (Tom) Smock.
Jerry was a longtime resident of New Albany, OH. He was very active in the community and also serving many years at the New Albany United Methodist Church. Jerry also served as the Mayor of New Albany for many years and involved in the expansion and development of New Albany. He was inducted into the New Albany High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
