Joseph Alex Pettis, 78, passed away Aug. 3, 2022. He was preceded in death by parents, Rufus and Edith Hilda Pettis and brother, Billy Ray Pettis. Joe is survived by wife of 47 years, Marie Pettis; children, Jeffrey (Paula) Pettis, Rachel (Mark) Herron, Jarrett (Rebecca) Pettis, and Debbie Doctor; grandchildren, Josh, Joseph, Matt, Amanda (Greg), Jessica, and Justin (Caitlin); great-grandchildren, Colton, Kylie, Hunter, and Callie; sister-in-law, Ann Pettis.
Joe retired as a Lieutenant from the Columbus Police Department after 31 years. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending his free time golfing with his family and friends as well as taking day trips with his wife.
Visitation Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022 from 11am to 1pm at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH.
