Joseph P. Sexton Sr.

Joseph Patrick Sexton, Sr., age 66, passed away on January 22, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruth Sexton and siblings, William, John, Ruthanne, Denise, Mike, Debbie, Diane, and Patty.

Joe is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia; daughter, Jenifer (Greg); son, Joseph Jr. and Laura (Charles); grandchildren, Mady, Ethan, Elizabeth and Charlie; siblings Susan, James, David, Janice, Karen and Mary.

Joseph was a man that loved and cared for many things. Starting at a young age being outdoors and hunting with his father and brothers was a joy to him. He would then go on to marry his love Patricia and start their lives together by moving to Florida. Joseph was blessed with 3 children whom he taught and shared his passion of hunting, fishing, working hard and most importantly taking care of your family and loved ones. Joe would always be there for anyone who needed a friendly ear, a shoulder to cry on, advice or just a helping hand.

After having a successful career as a general contractor for major oil companies, he decided to retire in the hills of Chillicothe with his love Patricia. Joseph found his sanctuary in Chillicothe on 62 acres where he could hunt, enjoy nature and be closer to his siblings. He was especially grateful to be able to teach his grandchildren all about the things he loved and cared for.

Joseph will be missed by many and remembered by all who knew him. He's now resting high up on that mountain watching over us all.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday January 31, 2023 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at Newcomer SW Chapel 3393 Broadway Grove City, Ohio 43123. Additional calling hours will follow on Wednesday February 1, 2023 from 10am to the time of the service at 11am at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Grove City Cemetery.
