Joyce Elaine Bradford

Joyce Elaine Bradford, 86, of Columbus, passed away on October 14, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 21, 1938 in Marysville, Ohio to the late John and Evah (Edson) Southard. 

Joyce graduated from Delaware Willis High School in 1956. She attended Ohio University before marrying the love of her life Gerald Bradford on March 21, 1958. She started her working career as clerical worker for Columbus Southern Power. She and her husband owned several convenience stores then began investing in residential real estate together. She held a real estate license and had a real passion for the industry.

When she wasn’t at work, Joyce loved to walk in nature and thoroughly enjoyed seeing wildlife, flowers, sunsets, and beautiful views. Her favorite hobbies were square dancing and ballroom dancing. She enjoyed spending many hours on the dance floor with her husband socializing with family and cherished friends.

Along with her husband, Joyce is survived by her two sons, Steve (Julie) Bradford and Dave (Victoria) Bradford; grandchildren, Rebecca (Tom) Colcord and Rachel Bradford; great grandchildren Timber Colcord, Katie Stine, Brianna Stine, and James Stine; great-great grandchild Willow Allen; sister, JoAnn Foreman; and many other family and friends. Along with her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Paul Foreman. 

As an Alzheimer’s patient, Joyce generously donated her body to The Ohio State University Alzheimer’s Research Program with the hope that it will help find a cure. The family has requested that those wishing to remember Joyce donate to the program in her memory at https://www.giveto.osu.edu/makeagift/details/305835?fund=305835.
