Juanita Jean Baxter, 89, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 6, 2023. She was the last of six children, born on April 12, 1934 to Otto and Florence (Breckenridge) Titus in Grove City, OH. Jean was a 1952 Graduate of Grove City H.S. and worked for Huntington Bank in Downtown Columbus, walking many blocks in high heels every day. She loved folding clothes and gift wrapping at JCPenney and eventually retired from Mac Tools, but never slowed down.
In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by son, Tim Baxter, daughter, Annette (Baxter) Robison, great granddaughter, Avery Nagel and most recently her loving husband of 69 years, Charlie Baxter.
Jean is survived by son, Robert (Debra) Baxter, granddaughter, Christina (Logan) Nagel, great grandson, Simon Nagel, daughter-in-law Terri (Rick) Yenger, dear niece Kathy Kebrdle, close friends and caregivers Ruth and John Scheid, many other relatives and friends.
Jeannie, as most called her, rarely sat down except to color or read a good book. She tap-danced, played chair volleyball and took trips with her friends at the "Senior Center." To relax, she turned to her trusty iron, smoothing away wrinkles of bed sheets and making crisp pleats in her jeans. She could usually be found in the kitchen making something delicious to share with family and friends. She had an incredible ability to make everyone around her feel special, usually with a home cooked meal, a greeting card, or a warm hug.
A private service will be held for immediate family at Sunset Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Jean's name to the Madison County Senior Citizens Center, 60 W High St, London, OH 43140 or the Mount Sterling Public Library, 60 W Columbus St, Mt Sterling, OH 43143.
