Juanita F. Deweese

Juanita Faye DeWeese (Gronbach), age 94, passed away on January 1, 2022. She was born on December 1, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Thelma (Rose) and Gordon Gronbach.
Juanita was also preceded by her husband, William E. DeWeese Sr.; daughter, Dorothy Ann DeWeese; brothers, Gordon (Trela) Gronbach Jr.; sister, Doris (William) Miller. She is survived by her children, Theresa (Richard) Kline, William E. (Connie) DeWeese Jr., David (Karen) DeWeese, Donald DeWeese, Thelma DeWeese; brother, Jerry (Betty) Gronbach; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In her early years she worked at Moby's and Kresges decorating windows and helping in other departments. After raising her family she was a banquet waitress for the Southern Hotel, Fort Hayes and Radisson Hotel. Juanita was a devoted member of Central Presbyterian until it closed its doors. She then moved her membership to Hoge Memorial. She was a Deacon and was very involved including teaching Sunday School, Bible School and helping with the rowdy Kids Choir. She helped with the food pantry and served many meals to the unfortunate before church.
Juanita was a great cook and baked wonderful desserts. She loved Bingo and playing the slots. She also enjoyed camping and fishing at Lake Erie. Juanita participated in the Ohio State Fair Senior Citizens Arts and Crafts Program.
Juanita was a great mother, not only to her children but also their friends. After she learned to drive, she always had a carload of friends and family. She will be greatly missed.
The visitation will be on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m at Newcomer-SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway in Grove City, Ohio 43123. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Family and friends may visit from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will take place on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Cemetery, 6959 W. Broad Street, Galloway, Ohio 43054. We will meet at the front gates.
The family requests masks are required if you are unvaccinated.
