Judith Elayne Jones

Lewis Center, Ohio - Judith Elayne Jones passed peacefully on April 21, 2022 in Lewis Center, OH. Judy was born in Indianapolis, IN to Lloyd A. and Katherine Elizabeth Murray Malott.

Judy graduated from St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis, IN. After working as a nurse in Redbluff, CA Judy returned to Indianapolis where she had a 20+ year tenure with Community Hospital (East). Judy was a head nurse in the operating room where she was particularly interested in ENT and Ophthalmology procedures. She later moved to Columbus, IN where she was nursing manager in the operating room and ultimately retired from Columbus Regional Hospital.

After retirement she lived in Roswell, NM for a few years before returning to Indy. Judy's passions extended to active ministry with her church community at St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Indianapolis where she was part of the Ladies Club, Funeral, and Bereavement Ministries. Judy was a member of the Brookside chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Association of Operating Room Nurses.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Anne J. Malott, Richard Malott, Carolyn Buchanan, Lloyd Andrew Malott and Clifford Wayne Malott, and Nancy Swisher. Judy is survived by her son, Charles Matthew Jones (Heather A. Lasher), and her sister, Mary Jane Delinger. Judy is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Fairview Cemetery in Orleans, Indiana on June 18, 2022 at 11:00 am with the inurnment following the service.
