Julia Manter Jones, 68, Columbus, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2010. Julia was born on September 25, 1941, to Carl D. and Flora (McGuire) Manter in Columbus, OH and is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Connie Sammons; mother and father-in-law; 3 sisters and 5 brothers. Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Danny Jones; daughter, Cathy Sammons; son, Donnie (Shelley) Sammons; her husband's children, Candy (Brad) Smith, Rodney Jones and Mark (Zulema) Jones; sisters, Margaret Currier, Mary (Steve) Gockenbach, Betty (Mike) Grom; brother, Thomas (Dianna) Manter; sister-in-law, Janet (Rick) Watterman; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; her care giver, Bonita Treadway; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends with a special acknowledgement to Neprea and Shawn. Julia worked for 17 years at the Olive Garden on East Dublin Granville Road and most recently at the Gahanna location. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010, 12 noon to 2PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with a Memorial Service to follow at 2PM. Memorial contributions may be made in Julia's name to HomeReach Hospice, 3595 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, OH 43214.
