Julie Virginia Gibbins (Watson), age 54, of Marysville, Ohio, entered into the presence of the Lord on January 28th, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with breast cancer. A beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, Julie was born in Columbus, Ohio on June 24th, 1970, to Jack A. Watson and Ruth A. Watson (Langley). Upon her graduation from Central Baptist Academy, she earned an Associate of Arts degree (Magna Cum Laude) from Bliss College in 1991, followed by a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cross-disciplinary Studies with a Concentration in Business Administration from Ohio Dominican College in 1994.
Julie and her husband Greg were married in Columbus, Ohio on January 28th, 1994. A proud Navy spouse, Julie worked and lived in a myriad of places across our great country as she faithfully accompanied her husband on numerous assignments throughout his 26-year Navy career. In addition to being the backbone of her family during her husband’s frequent deployments, she excelled in her full-time career as a mortgage banker. Upon their retirement from the military, Julie and her husband returned home to settle in the Columbus metropolitan area.
She was a lifelong member of the Baptist church and attended numerous churches while moving about the country. She considered Central Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio as her church home.
Julie will be deeply missed and is survived by her husband of 31 years, Greg Gibbins; son Max (Brittany) Gibbins, daughter, Makayla Gibbins (Colton Hughes), son, George Gibbins (Kayleah Link); grandchildren, Paisley Gibbins, Norah Gibbins; mother, Ruth Watson; brothers, Brian (Tara) Miller, Jack Watson; sisters, Annette (Jeff) Bell, and Judy (Adam) Crowell. She is preceded in death by her infant son Samuel Hunter Gibbins (1994) and her father, Jack A. Watson (2016).
Visitation will be held Monday February 3, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH where the funeral service will take place on Tuesday February 4, 2024, at 10:00 AM with Pastor Tim Lapish officiating. In lieu of flowers, Julie’s family requests that donations be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) at P.O. Box 676910, Dallas, Texas 75267-6910 or online at nationalbreastcancer.org, and to the Marion Area Humane Society at 2264 Richland Rd, Marion, OH 43302 or online at mahspets.org.
