Allen Spann, 90, of Grove City, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 27, 2008. Born in Columbus, Mississippi, on September 24, 1917, to the late Milford A. and Myrtle (Finch) Spann, Allen is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Nell (Blackwell) Spann; son, Dr. Kent (Cynthia) Spann; grandsons, Casey, Caleb and Connor Spann. Allen served as a Deacon at Whitehaven and Germantown Baptist Churches in Memphis, TN prior to moving to Grove City where he became a member of Highland Baptist Church. Other affiliations include the Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and the Lion's Club. Allen served in the US Navy during WWII. Allen founded and operated Spann Business Forms from 1957-2008. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2008, 5-8PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH with the Funeral Service on Thursday, July 31, 2008, 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Highland Baptist Church, Bridge to the Future Campaign c/o 3460 Hoover Road, Grove City, Ohio 43123.
