Kalatu Rugiatu Bangura Sesay, age 45, died at the Wexner Heritage Village in Columbus, Ohio, on Thursday, October 11, 2012.
Born September 25, 1967, in Port Loko, Northern Province of, Sierra Leone, she lived in Freetown for a while, then in Tel-Aviv, Israel for 13 years, before settling in Columbus, OH. She held employments at Wesley Glen Retirement Center and Friendship Village both in Columbus, Ohio.
She died a devout Christian, a very caring and loving mother, grandmother, and above all a very fine, kind and gently lady to all those who knew her.
Survivors include her mother, Haj Zainab Bangura; daughter, Adama "Baby White" Tarawally; two grandchildren, Alpha Mo Bangura and Mariama Morleh; elder brother, Sullay Bangura, nieces, Baby Zainab Mansaray, Isha Bangura, Rose Bangura of Canada; Yawara Bangura and Millicent Mansaray; several other family members including the Banguras, Koromas, Kamaras of Port Loko, the Nicols of Freetown, Sierra Leone. Other relative include; Hakima Sesay, Fanny Kamara, Kadiatu Kamara, Bockarie Barrie, Samuel Kargbo, Mr. and Mrs. Tarawally, Zacklyn Zac-Macauley, Sierra leone-Columbus Israeli Family member of the Israelis-Sisters, Maforki Descendants Association, and the Bombali Brothers and Sisters Association in Columbus, OH and Sierra Leone Community in Central Ohio.
Visitation will be held on October 19, 2012, 5-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service on Saturday, October 20, 2012, 9:30 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery.
