Karie M. Gallegos

January 1, 1965 — March 21, 2025

Columbus

Karie McKell Gallegos beloved wife, mother, Yia-Yia, sister, loved one, and friend passed away on March 21st, 2025. She was born on January 1st,1965 in Salt Lake City Utah to C.J and Kathee McKell.

Karie was a devoted wife to Paul Gallegos and a loving parent to Tabitha, Jamie, and Kory. She loved her grandchildren with her whole soul. Karie was a bubbly person who found joy in crafting and chatting with friends and neighbors. She never missed the opportunity to send out a thoughtful card or decorate her home and office for a holiday or football season. She was a devoted Buckeye fan and rarely missed watching a game. She was known for sending along a funny meme and doing her Sunday check ins. Her grandkids already miss her good morning calls. She always offered a listening ear or a hug. Her laugh had a way of making your worries disappear.

She was a hard worker her entire life, leading by example for her children and grandchildren. She operated her own cleaning business, worked for The Catholic Church, Homeless Families Foundation, and The Ohio State University Medical System.

Her grandest job was being the best Yia-Yia to not only her grandchildren but extending that love to their friends and other children she came across. She spread joy to all she met and was generous with her love.

She will be greatly missed by her husband Paul Gallegos, her daughters, Tabitha Gallegos, Jamie (Curtis) Reed, and Kory Hamilton. Her brother, Steven (Autumn) McKell. The biggest loss will be felt by her 9 grandchildren and great grandson.

She is preceded in death by her father, Clair Johnson (C.J.) McKell. Her mother, Kathleen McKell. Her father-in-law, Jose Leandro (Joseph Lee) Gallegos and her Mother-in-law, Olojia Gallegos.

A memorial service to celebrate Karie will be held in Utah Summer 2025
