Karon Sue Wing, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013.
She was born in Huntington, WV.
Karon was preceded in death by her father, Carlos Williamson; beloved dogs, Buffy, Eddie and Doey.
She was previously employed by the State of Ohio, ODOT and DAS.
Karon was past President and Chief Steward OCSEA Central Ohio Chapter 2513.
She previously served as Ward person from Clinton Twp. to the Franklin County Democratic Party Central Committee.
Karon cared for her mother-in-law, the late Pauline Wing for 7 years.
She loved politics, the labor movement, flea marketing, cooking, planting, traveling, and music.
Karon is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Joe; mother, Ruth Messer Williamson; daughter, Melissa Carifa; grandchildren, Christopher and Miranda Koogler; brother, Danny (Debra) Williamson; brother-in-law, Michael (Joyce) Wing; beloved dog, Josey; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be Monday, January 21, 2013 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, with the memorial service beginning at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Central Ohio Diabetes Association, 1100 Dennison Ave. Columbus, OH 43201.
Karon was a loving and caring wife that gave her husband, Joe the happiest and best 21 years of his life. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to have known her.
