Kathryn Lazroff

January 27, 1943 — February 8, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathryn Lazroff, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, nun, and nurse. Kathy was a shining example of love, compassion, and devotion. She lived a life filled with grace and kindness, touching the lives of everyone she met.

Born in Cleveland, OH to John and Thelma Ross, Kathy was the second youngest of 9 children. Her large Italian Catholic family of strong faith helped to shape the person she became.

Kathy dedicated herself to helping others, first as a Sister at the Sisters of the Humility of Mary for 10 years and then for over 40 years as a nurse and nursing educator. She was a gifted and dedicated teacher, inspiring countless students to pursue careers in healthcare. She was a true humanitarian, always willing to lend a helping hand, and her selflessness and generosity knew no bounds.

Kathy was a devoted wife to her husband, Jim, for 46 years. Her greatest pride in life was her sons and her grandchildren and together they built a loving and supportive family. Living in Strongsville, OH for the last 20 years, she had recently moved to Hilliard, OH.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents John and Thelma Ross, her mother and father in law, John "Jack" and Frances Lazroff, and 7 of her siblings.

Kathy was an active member of her community and her church. She was always there to offer comfort and support to those in need, and her kind and gentle nature endeared her to everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Kathy's legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of her husband, Jim, her sons, Steve (Lara), Mike (Taryn), Kevin (Kara), Steve Hutkai (Shannon), sister Rose Akers of Tampa, FL, grandchildren Ellie, Connor, Tenley, Talia, Alex, Jack, and Sammy, her extended family and the countless lives she touched. She will always be remembered as a true angel on earth, spreading love and light wherever she went.

To celebrate Kathy's life and give her loved ones a chance to say goodbye, a visitation will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 6-8pm at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 10am at St. Brendan the Navigator, 4475 Dublin Rd., Hilliard, OH 43026. Interment to follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Hilliard, OH.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Kathy's name to The American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. Rest in peace, Kathy, you will be forever loved and remembered.
