Kay Louise Janis

Kay Louise Janis gained her angel wings with her family by her side on Friday Dec. 9th, 2022 while bravely battling pancreatic cancer. She was born on June 29th, 1959, in Richfield, OH. Daughter of parents Lee and Donna Monegan (Valvoda). Beloved sister of Dave (Sue) Monegan, Larry Monegan, and Mike(Raquel) Monegan. She is survived by husband Terry Janis, loving children Sara (Justin) Linkey, Adam (Jeffrey) Somogye, and Grandson Jaylen Linkey. Kay is preceded by her former spouse Allan Somogye and her parents Lee and Donna Monegan.

Kay loved many things in life. One of her passions her entire life was education. From a young age, Kay loved to learn. She received her bachelor's degree from Bowling Green University in accounting. Then went on to earn her Masters in Business Administration. Kay enjoyed being a "bean counter", but found passion in financial planning later in life. She spent her retirement years helping others at tax time. She enjoyed spending time with her toes in the sand at the beach, or doing laps in the pool of her Florida home. She was also a passionate Mary Kay consultant who loved to show off the latest and greatest of beauty products to her family and friends. Kay's proudest accomplishments are her children. She loved watching them grow into adults with families of their own.

Kay will be desperately missed by all those that she's left behind. Our hearts are so broken by this unexpected loss. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed

Kay's celebration of life will be held on 1/27/23 from 4-7p at the Liberty House in Waterville, Ohio.
