Ken Fitz

Kenneth James Fitz, 61, originally from Sandusky, OH, passed away February 1, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, John J. and Anna Mae Fitz. Ken is survived by wife of 40 years, Judy Fitz; children, James David (Christina) Fitz and Sarah Christine (Chris Kaiser) Fitz; grandchildren, Luke, Natalie, Carrie Fitz, and baby boy Fitzkaiser, due in May; siblings, Mary Ann (Steve) Gove, Donald (Bette) Fitz, Tom (Sheri) Fitz, Barbara Thomas, Beverly Fitz, and Julie (David) Peck.

Ken attended Hocking Tech and Ohio University. He worked for Dawes Arboretum for 10 years and the Ohio Division of Wildlife for over 25 years, finishing his career as the Executive Administrator of Law Enforcement. Ken was an avid hunter and fisherman, a talented woodworker and artist who excelled in carving realistic wooden birds. He could make a friend anywhere, and did. Ken, Judy, and their family would spend as much time as possible at their cabin in Canada every summer. He loved his children and grandchildren and took every opportunity to brag about them, including his future grandson. He will be deeply missed.

Visitation Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 5-7pm at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. A time for sharing of stories and memories will begin immediately after at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, February 7, 2025 at 10am at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 434 Norton Rd, Columbus, OH 43228. Interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH.
