Kenneth L. Ward, 70, of New Albany, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. Born to Paul and Thelma (Vince) Ward in Columbus on January 10, 1939, Ken is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Kathy Ward; granddaughter, Sarah Ward. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Pearl (Brockmeyer) Ward; daughters, Cindy, (Nick) Blackstone and Marie (Brian) Hyatt; sons, Patrick (Linda) Ward, Scott Ward, Joshua (Jenni) Nicely and Kenneth Nicely; brother, Paul (Bev) Ward; grandchildren, Ashlyn, Sam, Alex, Christina, Eva, Scott, Tony, Gracie and Audrey; 3 great-grandchildren; aunt, nieces, nephews and many friends. Ken was a member of United Brethren Church, The Salvation Army, Golden Harvest Senior Group and many other community organizations. Ken enjoyed spreading the Lord's word and work at anytime that he was called upon. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2009, 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service on Good Friday, April 10, 2009, 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service.
