Kenneth Porter

Kenneth "Beecher" Porter, 86, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013. Beecher was born the oldest of 10 children to Orville and Myrtle (Baugess) Porter and is preceded in death by his parents;loving wife of 64 years, Betty (Polley) Porter; son, Roger Porter, brothers, J.B., Floyd and Lonnie Paul Porter; sister, Pauline Porter; sister-in-law, Kathy Porter.

Survivors include his daughter, Lynn Rogers; God son, Todd Porter; sisters, Ruby Johns, Janet (Bob) Palenick, Paula Porter; brothers, Merle (Nancy) Porter, Gene Porter; grandchildren, Kenneth and Adam Rogers; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Beecher served in the US Army during WWII and was a carpenter by trade his entire life. He was involved in the Boy Scouts for over 55 years and was active in the Free Methodist Church.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, 5-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service on Thursday, May 9, 2013, 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at Beaver Union Cemetery, Beaver, OH.
