The family of Kent Allen Jewell with great sadness announces his passing on Wednesday, November 29th, 2023, after a brief illness. His family was by his side at the Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Kent was born on May 7, 1960, in Waco, TX., to parents Jack D. Jewell, (deceased) and his surviving mother Lillian L. (Tietz) Jewell. He is survived by his brothers, Markam Jewell, Scott and Diane (Rust) Jewell. Sisters, Andrea (Jewell) and Randy Robbins, and Amy (Jewell) Strangis. He was proceeded in death by a special Aunt, Joyce Ragan.
He is fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, cousins, precious friends, and best friends, Douglas (Delores) Purchase, and his cat, Raven.
He grew up in New Carlisle and Springfield, Ohio and graduated from Bethel Park High School, Bethel Park, PA in 1979. He enlisted in the United States Navy serving the rank of Airman, D-6 catapult operator, on the USS Forrestal, Jacksonville FL, from 1979 to 1982. Thereafter, he lived in Port Saint Lucie, FL., until August 2023. He loved sunshine, the ocean and Florida weather.
Kent was a devote Christian and loved his congregation family and helping people. He was a member of City Church of the Treasure Coast in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. He loved to cook, listen to music, and think of new inventions! He worked as a cad designer, HVAC installer, and was self-employed for many years. Most of all he loved his family, pets, and his Bible. Kent said, "Don't grieve for me, we will all be together again one day in Jesus' heaven."
Services including a military acknowledgement will be held at the Lithopolis Cemetery Mausoleum, 4365 Cedar Hill Rd, Lithopolis, Ohio, December 8, 2023, at 2PM.
