Koteswara Rao Kollipara, age 78, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home early on Monday, December 11, 2023 in Powell, Ohio.
He was born July 15, 1945, in India. He was one of eight kids. He married Urmila Devi and raised two beautiful, successful daughters. While working in the revenue department, he was the first and only in his family to accomplish attaining his Bachelor's and Master's Degree. He eventually became the mayor of his town, and was a driven man everyone looked up to and loved throughout the years. He voluntarily retired from his position as Mayor before moving to the United States in 1998. He later had two lovely granddaughters.
Koteswara found joy in the simple things in life. His hobbies included spending time with his family, watching cricket and other sports, practicing yoga, keeping up with his interest in politics, and playing card games at home. He even played card games with his family in his last few months. He was diagnosed with Stage Four Lung Cancer in 2015 and fought like a warrior for over eight years. Throughout his struggles, his smile would constantly light up the room. He never gave up and was a true fighter until the end.
Koteswara - Although you are gone, you will forever be treasured in our hearts. May you find peace.
Visitation will be held from 11am to 3pm, Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, NW Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, OH 43065.
