In loving memory, we gather to honor and pay tribute to the life of Kyong Nam Rexford, also known as Lee Rexford, who peacefully passed away on January 6, 2024, at the age of 81 in Westerville, Ohio. Born on July 10, 1942, in Soule, Korea, arriving in the United States in 1962, Kyong's journey was adorned with timeless traditions, an unwavering commitment to family, and a steadfast devotion to her faith. Lee was a proud and devoted member of the Columbus Korean United Methodist Church.
Lee was the proud owner of Knight's Ice Cream for fifteen years. She loved creating new recipes and especially loved interacting with her customers. Her unwavering faith gave her the courage and strength to succeed and flourish.
Lee exemplified the virtues of humility, kindness, and respect. Lee was a passionate lover of fashion, an incredible cook, and was always known as a happy and loving friend. Her unwavering faith in Christ guided her every step, providing solace and strength throughout her earthly sojourn. Her gentle and compassionate spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As a beloved wife, sister, mother, stepmother, and grandmother, Lee's love knew no bounds. She held her family close to her heart, selflessly dedicating herself to their well-being. She leaves behind her devoted husband, John Rexford, her dear sister Chae Belieu, her beloved brother Jang Lee, her cherished daughter Theresa Kauffman, her esteemed stepson Kenneth Rexford (Leah), her esteemed stepson Brandon Rexford (Tracy), her esteemed stepson David Kauffman, and her treasured grandchildren Ara Rexford, Charlee Rexford, Ali Rexford (Zeke), Anna Rexford, Abby Rexford, Boaz Rexford, and Liam Kauffman along with her sister in law Rita Murphy and sister in law Mary Scholl.
Lee's memory is further adorned by the cherished souls who preceded her in death. She joins her father, Bea K Lee, her mother, Mu He Kim, her sister Kay Lee, and her brother Oak Lee, in the eternal embrace of heaven.
Family will greet guests from Noon to 2pm, Monday, January 22, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral, Northeast Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH 43035. Service to follow at 2pm, Monday, also at the funeral home. Burial to occur at 11am, Tuesday, at Rivercliff Cemetery, Mt. Gilead, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to Columbus Korean United Methodist Church, 5899 Cleveland Ave, Columbus, OH 43231.
