L. David Angel

July 19, 1957 — December 3, 2024

Larry David Angel, known to his loved ones as David, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2024, at the age of 67 in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio. Born on July 19, 1957, David was a lifelong resident of Columbus, where he built several successful businesses and a lasting legacy in the community.

David is survived by his beloved sisters, Sharon McCoy, Debby Stanton, and June Fellure. Throughout his life, he formed lasting, meaningful relationships, particularly with his close friends, who were always by his side and whom he cherished dearly.

A graduate of Franklin University, David developed the skills that would define his successful career as a Certified Public Accountant. Although he loved his work, what he treasured most were the friendships he built with his clients and employees. To David, his clients were not just business associates—they were friends. He dedicated himself to providing thoughtful advice, genuine care, and unwavering support. His office was a place of respect, where business was always accompanied by personal connection, and where bonds were formed and nurtured over the years.

As a mentor, David was insightful and deeply committed to the growth and well-being of those around him. He guided many through both their professional journeys and personal challenges, always offering a steady hand and a kind word.

David valued the friends who worked with him, appreciating their hard work, dedication, and the special relationships they shared. He often referred to his employees and clients as part of his extended family, and these bonds were as important to him as any other.

David’s approach to life was one of living fully in each moment, embracing joy, gratitude, and laughter wherever he could find it. His greatest happiness came from the company of his loved ones, particularly the friends who played such an important role in his life. They brought him immense joy, and he treasured the time spent with them.

David had a deep passion for food, especially exploring different cultures through their cuisines. He loved trying new flavors and dishes, whether it was authentic Mexican street tacos or Mediterranean delicacies. For him, food was a way to connect with others and experience the world in a unique and meaningful way.

Singing was another way David expressed himself. Whether he was belting out a tune in the car, joining in at work, or simply singing for his own enjoyment, music provided him with an outlet for his emotions.

A lover of travel, David found peace and tranquility in Mexico, especially by the water. The beach provided him with moments of quiet reflection and calm. He also had a passion for trying new drinks, attending live concerts, theater performances, and sporting events, and simply being around people. David thrived on shared experiences and creating lasting memories with those he loved.

David’s chosen family was a reflection of the warmth, generosity, and humor that defined his character. He embraced every holiday and gathering with open arms, bringing laughter and light to those around him. His loving nature and infectious sense of humor made him a cherished friend and family member.

David’s unwavering loyalty to his family and friends was a hallmark of his character. Whether it was offering a helping hand, a listening ear, or simply sharing a moment of laughter, David’s presence was a constant source of comfort and joy. He thrived on the company of friends, and it was in these cherished relationships that he truly found his greatest happiness. From impromptu gatherings to long conversations over dinner, David reveled in the camaraderie and connection that only true friendship could offer. His friendships were his lifeblood—he treated those he loved as family, always making time for others, no matter how busy life became.

He was a fierce advocate for those he cared about, always putting the needs of others before his own. His compassion extended beyond just words, as his actions were a testament to the depth of his love and dedication. His legacy of selflessness, encouragement, and humor will be carried on by those who were fortunate enough to know him.

In his final days, David was surrounded by the people who loved him, a reminder of the many lives he touched with his kindness, generosity, and infectious spirit. His legacy is not defined by his professional success, but by the lasting impact he made on the hearts of all who knew him. His memory will continue to inspire others to live with the same openness, humor, and compassion that defined David’s extraordinary life.

As we celebrate his life, we are reminded that David’s true gift was not in what he achieved, but in the love he gave, the friendships he fostered, and the way he made each person feel valued and important. Though he has passed, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

A memorial service to honor David’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral Home in Grove City, Ohio. His viewing will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with the service following immediately after. Burial will take place the same day at Galloway Cemetery.

David’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and mentorship will live on through the many meaningful relationships he built over his lifetime. His warmth, humor, and unwavering support touched the lives of everyone he knew, and he will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to call him a friend, colleague, or family.
