Larry Allen Curtis

Larry A. Curtis, age 81, departed this world and went home to be with the Lord on June 13, 2022.

Larry was born November 28, 1940, in Marietta, OH. He grew up a country boy and enjoyed watching westerns throughout his life. Upon moving to Columbus, Ohio, Larry was employed at Buckeye Steel for over 30 years. He loved working with his hands, repairing and building things. Larry was an excellent cement mason, always working under the belief that things should be done perfect and in order. He donated his time and skills to a couple local church projects.

Larry was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle church. He loved the Lord and loved to read his bible. We affectionately joked, referring to dad as the telephone preacher. When dad called, you knew you were going to hear a sermon. He loved his family and loved, loved his dog, Feisty.

Preceded in death by wife Deloris Jones-Curtis; parents, Clem and Eleanor Curtis; brothers, George "Jimmy" and Robert; sisters, Dorothy, Ruth, JoAnn, and Elizabeth.

Larry is survived by children, David Curtis, Lisa Mincks, Melissa Curtis, Ricky Smith (Elizabeth), Rita Curtis-Thomas (Jeffrey), Cynthia Richards, Raphael Smith; honorary children, Mark Curtis, Patrick Curtis, Michelle Curtis-Oates, Christina Curtis, and Erin Curtis; 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, other family and friends.

The viewing will be from 10-11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Newcomer-SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway in Grove City, Ohio 43123. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m.
