Larry J. Gant

Larry Joe Gant, 69, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on June 2, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Pearl Gant; his brother, Emmett Gant and great-granddaughter Lauryn Moore (Kristina Gant). Larry is survived by his Children Larry B. Gant, Bryant J. (Johansa) Gant, La'Traya B. Gant and Larry Joe Gant Jr.; his 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; his sisters Barbara (Rick) Austin, and Patricia Ingle; his former wife and friend, Stephanie Gant and special friend Sharon Allen, along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Larry was born on March 5th, 1953 in Shelbyville, Tennessee. He attended Central High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army. While serving in the military he lived in Bamberg, Germany and later spent 18 years working for the Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS).

Larry was a proud and loving father and grandfather. He loved to fish, doing puzzles with Na'Khi, playing cards, listening to music, and spending time with his friends at Poindexter place and his loved ones.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Newcomer Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm-2:00pm with the service starting promptly at 2:00pm. Flowers, donations and condolences may be offered at 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road Columbus, OH 43231.
