CLARKSON
Larry Joe Clarkson, 68, of Columbus, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2008. Born to Arthur R. and Gladys Mae (Williams) Clarkson, on December 21, 1939 in Columbus, OH, Larry was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Earl Nicholson; father-in-law, Jack Schluep. Survivors include his wife, Linda (Schluep) Clarkson; daughters, Clarissa (Gary) Burns and Kimberly (Jeff) Clarkson-Mathias; sons, Burton Clarkson, Matthew Clarkson and Sean (Lori) Clarkson; brother, John (Cheryl) Nicholson; grandchildren, Ashley, Justin, Dylan, Dalton, Jessica, Jake, Kelsey, Colton, Taylor, Hayley, JT, Kayla, Cody and Cassie; mother-in-law, Mary Schluep; nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. Larry was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church and was involved in many Mission Trips as well as a member of the "Praise Band". Larry was an usher at Ohio State Football games for 24 years with his good friend, Tom (Cherrie) Dole, where he was known as "The Towel Guy" on 20C deck. He was a little league baseball coach in Forest Park for several years. Larry was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2008, 3:00 PM - 6:30 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service to follow at 6:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church, 5100 Karl Road, Columbus, OH for future "Mission Trips".
