Larry C. Okey Sr.
September 9, 1947 — March 13, 2022
Larry C. Okey Sr., 74, of Westerville and Grove City, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 13, 2022. Larry was born September 9, 1947 in Columbus, OH to Frederick and Gertrude (Lapinski) Okey.
Larry was an avid outdoorsman and gardener. He worked at Huntington for over 25 years and The American Red Cross as well as the City of Columbus Division of Water. Larry never knew a stranger and could easily make a friend. .
Larry will be deeply missed by his; children Michelle (David) Merrick, Larry "Joe" (Mardi Forth) Okey; grandchildren Angel Merrick and Chase Okey; brother Randy (Monica) Okey; sister-in-law Cathy Bradley, brother-in-law Mike (Sandy) Duffy, many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 49 years Patty and brother Fred.
Visitation will be Friday, March 18, 2022, from 5pm to 7pm and Saturday, March 19, 2022 from 10am until the time of service at 11am at Newcomer NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd. Columbus.
Inurnment will be at Northlawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Capital City Hospice for their care and compassion for not just Larry, but the family as well.
