"Surely we belong to God and to him we shall return"
In the loving memory of Larry Eugene Pettit 62, of Lewis Center, Ohio. Larry passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024 peacefully at home. He was born on May 14, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio to Beatrice and Norman Christenson of Prichard, WV.
Larry was a treasured husband, dad, papaw, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He took pride in family and would do anything he could to make those around him feel loved. He was a protective, strong and affectionate man towards his wife Doha and his beautiful daughters. He loved spending time with family, traveling, and building anything and everything for his loved ones.
Larry was an extremely talented artist who could review a design on a piece of paper and make it come to life. From building shelves to making amazing furniture pieces, to plumbing, electric, welding, carpentry and more he could do it and do it proudly. If you live in a home in Central Ohio, there's a good chance that Larry built it. Larry has built homes in the Columbus area for over three decades and was the best in the business. He was a man with many talents and he would always say "If you're gonna do it do it right." From repairing cars to grilling out, he was a perfectionist. To say Larry was a hard worker was an understatement. He had incredibly strong work ethic and he never refused a challenging job.
Larry was one of the most selfless people you could ever meet. He always took the time to help anybody and everyone to the best of his ability. He helped to build and maintain many homes for his family and the ones he loved. He took a special interest in old classic cars and 70s rock and roll which were a huge part of his personality that he loved to share. Larry loved to tell jokes that would never fail to make people around him laugh and he always knew how to put a smile on people's faces.
We are devastated by our immense loss, but we also thank God every single day for blessing us with the privilege of knowing and loving his beautiful soul.
Larry was loved by many and will be missed. He is survived by his beautiful wife Doha Dawah of 24 years; daughters: Britany (Ben) Wohali, Allie Pettit, Mya Pettit, and Miriam Omar. Other survivors include grandchildren: Bria Thompson, Moriah and Kingston Wohali; Sister Betty Kay (Mark) Marcum; Brothers: Tim Pettit, Norman (Kristy) Christenson, and Lonnie Christenson; many loving nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
