Larry Richards, 62, of Springfield passed away Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Hoover Haus Assisted Living Facility in Grove City after a short battle with cancer. He was born March 27, 1947, in Rensselaer, IN, son of the late Paul and Velma Hershberger Richards. He graduated from Rensselaer Central High School in 1965 and served as a sergeant in the Air Force during Vietnam. Larry spent most of his career working at International Harvester. He is survived by his daughters, Nikki (Jason) Bornhorst, Sherry (Ev) Avara, Laurie (Tim) Bland and Susan Helderman; sister, Darlene (Dave) Sutton; grandchildren, Makenzie, Candice, Keith, Cassi, Conner, Dustin, Jody, Brad and Buddy; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Calleigh, Kaylin, Riley, Makayla, Zackery, Edward, Karson and Kurston. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his grandson, Kyle. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 23, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Jackson Funeral Chapel, Rensselaer, IN.
