Larry L. Sampson

The man. The myth. The legend. Larry L. Sampson, 29, of Sunbury, OH, lost his courageous battle with
brain cancer on July 23, 2022, surrounded by his family. Larry was born October 20, 1992 to Amy L.
Elliott and Larry K. Sampson in Columbus, OH . Larry was known by all as an outgoing, caring and loving
person – a friend to all. He had a passion for football and considered the many friends he made
throughout his football career to be his brothers. After graduating from London High School, he went on
to play college football at Urbana University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. He
went on to work for Superior Beverage Group of Columbus, who remained a stead-fast and supportive
employer through his entire cancer battle.
Larry had an immense love of life and laughter. He loved to play pranks on others and make people
laugh. He had such a big heart, that he adopted, what has to be, the grouchiest, most anti-social cat on
the planet, Buster. He still loved him.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Brooke Sampson (Crum); their two children, Leighton Despain
(daughter) and Lawson Sampson (son); his mother, Amy L. Elliott, and bonus dad, Todd Elliott; his father,
Larry K. Sampson and bonus mom, Rhonda Sampson; brothers, Chase Sampson and Jacob Sampson;
maternal grandparents, Dave Wine and Luana Entler; paternal grandmother, Leoda Sampson; bonus
grandparents, John and Jan Elliott; in-laws, Bennie and Regina Crum; brother-in-law, Ben Crum; sister-in-
law, Natalie Crum; uncle, Dewayne Godby (Jeanna); aunt, Lori Johnson; uncle, Paul Sampson (Lisa); and
many special cousins, two of which were like his brother (Alex Johnson) and sister (Ashley Johnson) to
him.
Larry is preceded in death by his favorite uncle, Dan Johnson, and his grandfather and namesake, Larry
Lee Sampson.
Larry will always be "kind of a big deal" as we cherish the wonderful memories and remember the good
times we had with him for the many years to come.

Visitation services will be held on Friday, July 29th from 10 AM to 12PM at Newcomer Funeral Home,
3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 12 PM.
