Laura "Ruth" Burns, 67, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born to the late Aden & Lillian Oxley, Ruth is preceded in death by daughter, Gidgett Marissa Burns; sister, Maryann Oxley; brothers, Bill, Dorsel, Perry and Johnny Oxley. Survivors include her daughter, Kacia Warren (Buckley); grandchildren, David Austin Buckley, Aaron Charles Buckley and Laura Ashley Buckley; sister, Cora Ann (Chuck) Clemetson of MN; and lifetime friend, Mary Farley-Hill. Ruth served as an LPN nurse at Arbors of Hilliard for 27 years providing excellent care. She was dedicated in taking care of many friends and family through the years with her giving heart. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 from 6-7:30PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, with a memorial service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ruth's name may be made to the St. Jude Medical Research Hospital, 332 North Lauderdale Street, Memphis, TN 38105.
