Brunton
Laurence R. "Larry" Brunton, of Grove City passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2009 at his home with his family. He was born January 10, 1929, in Columbus, son of the late Wilford and Lucille (Chevalier) Brunton Sr. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sister, Norma (Bill) Harrigill and brother, Wilford Brunton Jr. He served in the Navy during WWII and Korea. Larry retired from ABEX Corp., was a member of American Legion Pashall Post #164, Grove City United Methodist Church, 50 year member of Grove City Lodge #689, F&AM, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, The Aladdin Shrine Temple along with many other Masonic organizations, 50 year member of the Grove City Chapter #502, Order of the Eastern Star where he served three times as Worthy Patron. He is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter, Karen; special friend, Brian Gleich; sisters-in-law, Patricia Freeland, Eileen Richards, Leila (Charles) Harper, Carol Freeland, Jerry Lee (Glenn) Litton and Sharon (Dan) Parks and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 8, 2009 from 4:30-7:30 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home 3393 Broadway Grove City, with a Masonic service beginning at 7:30 PM. Funeral service will be Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, with Rev. Ed Lewis, officiating. Private interment will follow at Grove City Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Grove City United Methodist Church or Grove City Lodge Endowment Fund or charity of your choice.
