It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved Laurie (Loopie) Penland who passed away on February 12th, 2023 at The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute at age 63.
Laurie was born February 23, 1959. She grew up in Newark Ohio, and graduated Newark High School. She lived in New Albany and worked at Parallel Technology for 30 years as a senior sales executive. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, yaya, sister, sister in law, aunt, friend and coworker.
The loss is felt deeply by anyone else who has known her. Her infectious smile, big laugh, kind heart, generosity, love for her friends and family, and wicked sense of humor will be missed by all. Her personality sparkled. She loved spending time with family, friends and traveling, and her favorite place was at the lake spending time with her entire family. The legacy she has left will be felt by generations to come.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Janet Penland. She is survived by her son Steven Penland (Erin), Her grandson Max, and was Yaya to Ethan, Ella, Keilah, and Logan: her siblings Michael (Gina), Gail, Robert, Ramona (Barry), Edwin Jr., and Tiffany (Adam). Her nieces and nephews Todd (Cassie), Christopher, Matthew (Carolyn), Scott (Christa), Mike, Heather (Nate), Stephanie, Samantha( Fritz), Jonathan, Michael, as well as great nephews and nieces.
