Larry Burns, born July 11, 1937 in Highland County, Ohio to Ralph and Gladys (Hamilton) Burns passed away March 1, 2022.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janet (Hopkins) Burns, children Larry (Susie) Burns, Abby (John) Warchal, Cindy Seip and Dennis Burns, Sister Connie Butts, 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents Ralph and Gladys, brother Gene, sisters Marylin, Carol, and Debbie, daughter Sandy; son Thomas and grandson Justin.

Larry was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 39 years. He sponsored many recovering alcoholics and told his story all over the country to encourage sobriety. He could get a phone call anytime day or night and he would be out the door to help. His impact will live on for years.

Larry enjoyed working and volunteering at the Desert Island Club established to give recovering addicts a place to socialize. He owned several businesses on the Westside of Columbus including a mobile notary where he enjoyed meeting and serving people. He attended and served at The Church Next Door for 48+ years. You could see his smile ushering and serving communion.

Larry could be seen delivering food and clothing to the homeless every Saturday. He generously gave to make people's lives easier. Larry never met a stranger.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday March 4, 2022 at The Church Next Door, 5755 Feder Rd. Columbus, OH 43228. Visitation starting at 3:00 pm with Celebration commencing at 6:00 pm with Rev. Dan Patton officiating.
