Lawrence Oiler, 74, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Mt. Carmel West Hospital. He was born August 27, 1933, in Vinton, Oh., son of the late Walter and Sally Boggs Oiler. In addition to his parents, Lawrence is preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Oiler and sister, Mildred Rice. He served in the Air Force and was also a Marine during the Korean Conflict. Lawrence is survived by his wife, Ann Garen Oiler; four daughters; two sons; sister, Emma Tackett; brother, Wendell Oiler; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 13, 2008 12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home S.W. Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, with Pastor Roger McCoy, officiating, visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be in Dayton National Cemetery.
