Leonard A. Collins, Sr. 81, of Columbus, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, May 8, 2009. Born to Leonard Allen and Roberta (Van Auker) Collins on March 10, 1928, in Grafton, WV, Leonard is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy Riddle; brothers, Paul and Joseph Collins. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Dorothy (Arnold) Collins; daughters, Carol (Joel) Gaertner and Susan (Doug) Nault; sons, David (Kathy), Mark (Karan), Leonard Jr. "Art" (Kim), Charles (Kelly) Collins; sister, Jean (John) Kuprewicz; grandchildren, Adam Collins, Aaron (Jamie) Collins, Brent (Johnna) Gaertner, Jodi (Sean) O'Connor, Benjamin (Jennifer) Gaertner, Rachelle (DeShun) Nault-Wilson, Amie (Joseph) Pierce, Bethany Collins, Hannah (Jason) Grove, Katherine Nault, Kristen Collins, Emily Collins and Kara Collins; 19 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Leonard retired from Ashland Chemical Company, Dublin, OH, after more than 30 years of service. Leonard was a member of Columbus First Church of the Nazarene, where he served faithfully for more than 40 years. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, 4-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Rd, Columbus, OH, with the Funeral Service on Wednesday, May 13, 2009, 11:00 AM at First Church of the Nazarene, 142 King Avenue, Columbus, OH, 43201. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vinton County Gideons, P.O. Box 559, McArthur, OH.45651
