Lester "Poppy" E. Hollingshead, 72, of Grove City, OH, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on August 30, 2012. He was born in Vinton County, OH on July 24, 1940.
He retired as an over the road truck driver after many years in 2002. He was an avid follower of thoroughbred horse racing. He was a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State University. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, great-granddaughter and his cats.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Pearl E. and Madeline Marie Hollingshead, son, Steven E. Hollingshead and brother, Lane E. Hollingshead. Surviving family includes, his wife of 53 years Barbara, children, Mark E. (Debbie) Hollingshead, Beth Ann (Gary) Cotton, Karen Lynn (Rob) Radak, grandchildren, J.J., Megan (Korey), Stacie (Jareth), Kayla, Courtney, great-granddaughter, Kennedy and constant companion his beloved cat, Casey. He is also survived by many loving extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00pm, Tuesday, September 4, 2012, with a funeral service starting at 7:00pm.
