Lewis "Lewie" Lamar Walters passed away on Sunday July 12, 2015 with his sons and family supporting him at his bedside after an extensive battle with cancer. Lewis lived on the Westside of Columbus with his fiancée of 28 years Sharon Ohrstedt.
He was born on August 17, 1952 along with his twin sister Sharon Louise at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. He was preceded in death by mother, Eva Belle Pierce Perry, father Glendon J. Perry, brother Jerry Perry, adoptive parents Bertie Pierce Walters and Jack Walters, along with fiancée Sharon Ohrstedt. Surviving are his sons, Aaron (Jessica) Walters and Elvis (Misty) Walters; David (Christy) Walters and Michael (Katelyn) Walters; his sisters Kathryn (Bob) Matteson, Connie Waters, Judy (Roy) Kirkendall and Sharon (Don) Cox; granddaughters Sydney, Elin, and Lauren Walters and several nieces and nephews. Lewie was blessed to have special friends Emery (Bud) Tetrault and Gertrude Rasor in his life.
Lewis was very active and dedicated to the AA program in Columbus and had many longtime friends. He appreciated their support, encouragement and enjoyed their company.
