Lewis P. Sale, 94, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born on July 2, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Lewis and Grace Sale.
Lewis is preceded in death by son, Roger Sale and brother, Richard Sale.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Eleanor Sale; sons, Kenneth Sale, Mark (Elaine) Sale, Tom (Susan) Sale; grandchildren, Melissa (Steven) Edell, Jeffrey (Jacy) Sale, Laura Sale, Matthew Sale, Jason (Kristina) Sweazy, Jeremy Sweazy; six great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Lewis proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from Battelle Memorial Institute in 1989 after 22 years of service.
His family was the center of his life. Lewis was a classic example of the greatest generation. If there was a need, he would be there to help.
Lewis was active in Boy Scouts both as a child and as a father. He enjoyed being outdoors and traveled all over the world. He was a man of many talents, which included building homes, refurbishing cars, boats, and most anything else.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 13, 2022 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, Receptions, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd, Columbus, OH 43231 with the memorial service immediately following at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lewis's honor to Honor Flight Columbus or the charity of the donor's choosing.
