Lillian L. Jewell, 96, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024.
Lillian was born February 2, 1928, to Fred and Florence (Mellinger) Tietz. She graduated from New Lyme High School in 1946 and worked in a factory post WWII where she met her future husband, Jack Jewell who told her “Stick with me and I’ll show you the world”. Mrs. Jewell became a homemaker, raising 5 children, and later in life worked as a cook for the Lazarus Department Stores and as an office manager for JD Jewell, LLC. She loved growing flowers and plants, loved many family pets, and was a member of the Disciples of Christ Christian Church.
Lillian will be deeply missed by her children, Mark Jewell, Andrea Johnson-Robbins, Scott (Diane) Jewell, and Amy Strangis. She will also be missed by 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson, 2 nieces and 2 nephews and many special cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jack Jewell, son Kent Jewell, Joyce Ragan (sister-in-law), brothers-in-law, Ivan and Gerold Jewell, aunts and uncles, and many special cousins.
Visitation will be held, Tuesday, November 26, 2024, 4-7pm, at Newcomer NE Chapel, 3047 Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus, Ohio. A brief service will be held at 6pm. Funeral and burial will take place in Kinsman, Ohio, November 30, 2024, 1pm at the Chapel in the Kinsman Cemetery.
